I believe my snake in a boot was my first ever character face sketch. Anyways, I'm starting to do these because I have seen them in my Pixar, Disney, and Ghibli Art Books. The animators and artists must make these to make sure the look of the character is just right with every different face expression. I cannot take credit for the different moods though. There is a list I made of moods and feelings so I draw the faces from that. Every time I draw these, I don't want the focus to be thinking up the moods, but the face expressions themselves.
BTW, I have decided to call these
fetchers (character + face + sketches) so I don't have to type it all out when I post these.
Next time I promise to draw bigger. For some reason I always say I will draw big, but then I end up not!
Let it be known that today, May 13, 2009, I have decided my major to be: Character Animation.
